How to Read a Supplement Label Before You Buy Anything

Before buying any dietary supplement, learning to read the label protects you from wasting money on ineffective or potentially unsafe products. Here are four things to check on every label — including Alkatide's — before making a purchase.
1. Full Ingredient Disclosure
Every ingredient should be listed with its amount or at minimum identified as part of a proprietary blend with total weight. Avoid products that hide behind vague terms. Alkatide discloses all three active ingredients on its label: Apple Cider Vinegar, Pectin, and Citric Acid.
2. Serving Size and Directions
Check how many servings per container and the recommended daily intake. Alkatide is one gummy daily, 30 per bottle. Some supplements require 3-4 pills per day, which means a 60-capsule bottle is actually only a 15-20 day supply.
3. Manufacturing Claims
Look for Made in USA, GMP certification, and FDA-registered facility markers. These indicate quality manufacturing standards. Note that no dietary supplement is FDA-approved — the FDA registers facilities, not products.
4. Allergen and Additive Information
Check for artificial colors, flavors, fillers, and common allergens. The cleaner the ingredient list, the better. A label with 30 ingredients when only 3-5 are active means the rest are fillers or additives. See the FDA dietary supplement page for more information.
